INVESTEC GRAYSTON DRIVE
- Phase 3

IN ASSOCIATION WITH:

O & Co - Interior Architects

Having worked on the initial two projects that transformed the building at 100 Grayston Drive more than 15 years ago, John Radford Architects were appointed once again to upgrade the building to meet with the changed operational brief and to provide additional amenities centred around the visitor's experience. On completion of this project the new and refurbished areas worked on, totalled an area of more than 55 560m².

The project utilized previous elements from the previous designs and further elevated and enhanced these through the new additions.

Beside the new amenities, which included an auditorium, dining and entertainment facilities, the entire ground floor of the existing building was re-modelled to create training rooms, client meeting rooms, staff delicatessens and informal dining facilities.

The approach to the building was augmented, creating a wide boulevard access that focuses the arrival on the iconic glass box that sweeps up to the main entrance, extending over more than 5 storeys in height.

In order to maximise the urban nature of the property, being at the gateway to Sandton, the corner of the property provided an opportunity to create a subtle architectural statement, incorporating sheer walls juxtaposed with glazed elements.

By using the same materials from the previous phases and despite introducing new forms, a harmonious composition takes the building to a new level befitting of a 21st century organization.
